Washington County Transit is proposing a change to the maximum operating service hours for the Shared Ride Taxi program beginning in 2026. This adjustment would reduce the total number of possible service hours from 58,000 to 53,000, aligning with actual usage observed in 2024 and projected for 2025.

In 2024, the Shared Ride Taxi program delivered approximately 52,500 service hours. Current projections for 2025 indicate a similar level of ridership. This proposed change would align service levels with actual usage, while continuing to focus on driver availability during peak demand periods.

*This change is pending approval of the Washington County Public Works Committee on August 21st, 2025. The meeting will not be open for public comment, but written comments received will be submitted in the report to the committee. The proposed change would take effect January 1, 2026.
