Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) Program

Washington County Transit will be accepting comments on the DBE Program, the proposed overall goal, and its rationale. The DBE goal for Transit contracts awarded 2024-2026 is 1.2%.  The DBE document will be available for inspection at the Washington County Highway Department, located at 900 Lang Street, West Bend, WI  53090, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday –Friday. It is also available in this link.

Comments will be accepted for 30 days starting on December 9th, 2023, and ending on January 8th, 2024.  Comments will be accepted by mail and email.  If sending comments by mail the address is: Washington County Highway Department, 900 Lang Street, West Bend, WI  53090.  If sending by email the address is: [email protected] . Please list “DBE Comments” as the subject of mail or email responses.

The Specialized Transportation Assistance Grant application for 2024 is scheduled for a public hearing by the Washington County Public Works Committee on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at 4:00 PM in room 1019 at the Washington County Herbert J. Tennies Government Center, West Bend, Wisconsin 53095 for the purpose of receiving comment for Washington County’s proposed application for approximately $499,315.00 of funding authorized under Section 85.21 of the Wisconsin Statutes to implement its elderly and disabled transportation program:

• Shared-Ride Taxi Service
• Non-Urgent Medical Rides Out-of-County Service
• Four (4) ADA Bariatric Vans
• Four (4) ADA Minibuses

At the hearing Washington County Public Works Committee will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said project. Transportation may be provided to the meeting for elderly and disabled persons by calling (262)-338-2908. Additionally, written comments will be considered if sent to Washington County Transit Services, 900 Lang Street, West Bend, Wisconsin by November 13, 2023.
