Spring Operations

Spring operations focus on roadway maintenance to repair damage sustained during the winter season and the preparation of roadways scheduled for construction in the summer. Typical spring maintenance activities include removal of snow fence, grading shoulders, and right-of-way management including mowing operations, trash pick-up, and brush cutting.

Shouldering

Having well maintained shoulders along a roadway is a key to maximizing pavement life as the shoulder provides support, strength and therefore slows deterioration.

Tree and Brush Clearing

Tree and brush clearing is needed after winter subsides. Keeping the right-of-way as clear as possible of woody vegetation can enhance safety and drainage.
