COVID-19 Precautions/Updates

Samaritan Campus' first priority is always the health and well-being of our residents and team members. We have policies and procedures that are reviewed on an ongoing basis by our Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Infection Control and all appropriate departments, as a way to keep up to date with the latest information and adjust our practices accordingly. In addition to our infection control measures, we have added additional precautions based on guidance and mandates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), as well as state and local health officials.

Visitations

Indoor Visitations - We are not currently in outbreak. Visitation is allowed and masks are not require

- Socially distancing in rooms is recommended
- Visitors must sign in and out
- Feeding residents is not allowed

Patio Visits - Residents are allowed and encourage on patio during the duration of their visit (weather permitting).

Infection Prevention and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

We at Samaritan have been fortunate enough to have, and continue to have, an adequate supply of PPE for all of our staff members. This includes facemasks (surgical and N95), gowns, gloves, goggles, and faceshields. It is directed by the Director of Nursing and our Infection Control Specialist how these items are used and distributed within our facility to maximize our best infection control practices while still being cautious of supply on hand.

Additional Infection Control steps have been implemented as follows:

Only allowing essential personally into the facility
Frequent handwashing
Screening all employees entering the facility (this includes a questionnaire and temperature check)
Only allowing one entrance an exit point for SNF staff to ensure everyone is being screened
Enhanced cleaning procedures, including frequent cleaning of high-traffic areas
Allowing one pick-up and drop-off location for any items entering or leaving the facility
Allowing only vaccinated volunteers
Purchased a UVC Skytron cleaning machine which can be placed in a room and kills any living virus/bacteria.
Ionization and frequent cleaning of all high touch surfaces

COVID-19 Vaccine

On December 30, 2020 , January 27, 2021, and February 24, 2021 CVS pharmacy came to Samaritan Campus to offer and administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to any staff member or resident who wished to receive it. This was a voluntary vaccine for both staff and residents, however it was highly recommend by our Medical Director and Consultant Pharmacist. Residents and/or their activated POA or guardian were contacted for consent for the vaccine.

This is a two part vaccine so any one who received part one in also received the 2nd dose.
