West Bend, WI – County Executive Josh Schoemann officially appointed the Washington County Chief Deputy Medical Examiner Debbie Stodola to serve as the Medical Examiner on December 23, 2024, and she began in the new role on January 1, 2025.

Stodola has served as the Chief Deputy Medical Examiner since September 2023. Prior to that she worked for the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office as a Forensic Investigator. She is certified by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) and is a member of the Wisconsin Coroners and Medical Examiners Association (WCMEA) and the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners (IACME). With her educational and professional background, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this vital role.

Stodola is committed to upholding the highest standards in death investigation. Through our continued partnership with the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic pathology services, she will ensure that all cases are handled with thoroughness and compassion.
