Preliminary Floodplain Map Amendments

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is hosting a Flood Risk Open House for property owners regarding Preliminary Floodplain Study Map Amendments.

Open House - May 2, 2024 - 4-7pm at the Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center - Ziegler Building - 3000 CTH PV, West Bend, WI  53095

Impacted property owners should look for a postcard this week inviting them to attend the open house at the Washington County Fair Park. The postcards will indicate if there is a general increase or decrease in the floodplain of a property (blue postcard indicates increase; yellow postcard indicates slight change; green postcard indicates decrease).  The postcards are parcel specific. For property owners that own multiple parcels they will receive a postcard for each parcel.  To view the current and proposed floodplain changes as it relates to your property – click on the Floodplain Change View Map Link below.

At the Open House, representatives from various local, state, and federal agencies will be available to provide the most current information about flood risk, flood insurance, floodplain development regulations, and the process used to map Washington County’s floodplains.
