Washington County Redevelopment Corridor

Project Overview

Washington County is partnering with Regal Ware to develop Next Generation Housing in the City of West Bend. The project is currently estimated to provide 200 new owner-occupied units including single-family homes, duplexes, and townhomes. This project consists of 49 acres of County-owned land and 17 acres of Regal Ware’s SynergyOps site, spanning from Schmidt Road to Water Street.

The project began with the designation of the land within the corridor, driven by the desire to put County-owned land back onto tax rolls. In Spring 2025, the County Executive established the Washington County Redevelopment Vision Task Force. The Task Force comprised of business owners, real estate agents, attorneys, elected officials, engineers, planners, and other advisory members. Throughout the Summer  of 2025, the Task Force met four times to discuss market conditions, historical data, the Next Generation Housing Initiative, community needs, and current project site conditions. Following these discussions, the Task Force worked with a consultant to create concept plans for the project, as well as a guiding vision statement. On October 15, 2025, the Task Force presented the vision and concepts to the Washington County Executive Committee. The Executive Committee approved the vision and plans, creating guidance for the development.

Public Engagement

In December 2025, the Community Development Department submitted the concept plans for the project to the City of West Bend for review and discussion by the City’s Plan Commission on February 3, 2026. Prior to the Plan Commission’s review, the County hosted a Public Open House on January 27, 2026, to present the concepts to the public and gain valuable feedback from residents.
