NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

Shed Fire
01/26/2022
Today at approximately 8:31am the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident at 7012 Nenno Road in the Town of Addison advising their shed was on fire. The caller advised horses were in the shed, but no people were inside. The Allenton Fire Department was paged and the call was upgraded to a MABAS call. Fire Departments from St. Lawrence, Kohlsville, West Bend, Jackson, Hartford, Slinger, Theresa, Knowles, Iron Ridge, Neosho and Lifestar Rescue responded to assist.

Structure Fire 1/25/2022

On Tuesday January 25th 2022 at approximately 11:39 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible fire in a wooded area in the 4500 block of Cty Tk NN in the Town of Polk. The first responding deputy on scene was able to observe a large fire in the woods from the roadway. He approached the location on foot and was able to determine that a shed on the property had already nearly burned to the ground. The fire had been entirely contained to the shed. The residence and other outbuildings were not affected.

In-custody Death

WEST BEND, WI - On Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 9:25 a.m., the Washington County Jail experienced an in-custody death of an inmate. The inmate, a 52-year-old Racine man, had been in custody since November 30, 2021 on two bondable misdemeanor criminal charges.

House Fire 22-1116

Today, at approximately 8:10am, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident in the 1500 block of Sleepy Hollow Drive in the Village of Richfield advising he could see a roof of a residence on Valley View Drive on fire. The Richfield Fire Department was paged and the call was upgraded to a MABAS call. Fire Departments from Germantown, Jackson, Slinger, Hartford, Allenton and Lisbon responded to assist.

Update to Fatal Car Accident
01/10/2022
A 48-year-old Florida man was arrested in Darien, Illinois Sunday morning by Washington County Sheriff investigators with the assistance of local authorities in connection to a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Friday night around 8:00p.m. on USH 45 near STH 60. Thony Renelique remains in custody in Du Page County, Illinois, awaiting extradition back to Wisconsin. Renelique has been charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. If found guilty, he could face up to ten years in prison.

Fatal accident

On Friday, January 7th, 2022, at 7:54PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle crash on Highway 45 northbound just south of Highway 60 in the Village of Jackson. Deputies responded along with Jackson Police and Wisconsin State Patrol. Personnel from Jackson Fire Department also responded.

Child Run Over by Vehicle

On 12/27/2021 at 3:51pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 911 call from and Village of Richfield resident stating that a 3 year old child had just been run over by a vehicle, and that they were en route with the child to the Richfield Fire Department. Deputies began responding to the fire department and the scene.

Fatal Car Crash on I41

Addison, Wis. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the 11th county traffic fatality of 2021 after a citizen reported observing a car on its roof in the ditch of Interstate 41 in the area of Wildlife Rd. From the elevated position in a commercial vehicle, the reporting citizen saw a car upside-down over an embankment and called 911 at 6:54 a.m.
