NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

Arrest in Fatal Drug Overdose

Washington County Sheriff’s investigators made several arrests early Thursday morning in connection with a fatal drug overdose that occurred in the City of Hartford in June of 2024. The investigation started with the City of Hartford Police Department investigating the deadly drug overdose of a 39-year-old Hartford woman. The Washington County Sheriff's Office Multi-Jurisdictional Drug unit opened an investigation into the source of drugs and was able to identify the suspect as a 30-year-old City of Milwaukee man. Washington County investigators collaborated with the Washington County District Attorney’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation Overdose Death Initiative, and the Wisconsin Counterdrug Program for several months. This investigation culminated Thursday morning with three search warrants executed by tactical teams in the City of Milwaukee and one in the Village of Grafton.

Injury Crash

On December 29, 2024 at approximately 8:12 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of County Trunk P and County Trunk NN in the Town of West Bend. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the West Bend Police Department responded to the scene. West Bend Fire and Rescue also responded.

12/17/2024 Jackson Shop Fire
12/17/2024
On 12/17/2024 at 3:37pm, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communication Center received a 911 call from a property owner on Church Rd in the Town of Jackson reporting a fire in the shop of his property. The caller reported that the shop was full of equipment and that there had been several small explosions. The caller stated that he was calling from another nearby property and that he sustained some burns in the fire. Jackson Fire and Sheriff’s Office Deputies were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Greenhouse Fire
12/12/2024
This morning at approximately 7:17am the Sheriff’s Office received a call about a possible greenhouse fire at a residence in the 5900 block of Cty Tk Y in the Town of Trenton. The caller reported smoke, and flames were observed coming from the greenhouse. Deputies were dispatched to this location along with the Newburg Fire Department.

House Fire
12/10/2024
On 12/9/24 at 6:41pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center took a 911 call from the homeowner at 6975 Barney Ct in the Town of Trenton, who reported, there was heavy smoke coming from their attached garage. Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the Newburg Fire Department were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Community Notification

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to WI Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense.
