NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

24-21886 Residential Structure Fire
06/30/2024
On 06/30/2024 at 6:14pm, the Washington County Communication Center took a 911 call from the owners of a residence on Hwy 175 south of Slinger reporting that the house was on fire and that all occupants had exited. Deputies and Slinger Fire were dispatched to the scene.

6/24/2024 Richfield Garage Fire
06/24/2024
On June 24th at approximately 7:50am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible garage fire in the Village of Richfield at 3933 Cora Lane. A homeowner called and advised there was heavy black smoke coming from a detached garage on the property. The homeowner advised no one was in the garage and only personal property inside.

Follow Up on Potential 980 Release

WEST BEND, WI - Last week sheriff’s office investigators canvassed homes in response to a proposed order from Outagamie County Circuit Court regarding case 1996CI1. The sheriff’s office staff made door-to-door contact with 122 homes that are within a 1500’ radius from the proposed placement of a Chapter 980 offender at a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) known as “A Passion for Caring, LLC” located at 6893 Eastwood Trail in the Town of Trenton.

Potential Release of Violent Sex Offender

TOWN OF TRENTON, WI - Early this week the sheriff’s office was notified by the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services of a potential supervised release plan of a subject who was committed as a Sexually Violent Person under Wisconsin Chapter 980 by an Outagamie County Circuit Court judge in July of 1997.

Major Drug Seizure

It started as a traffic stop in Washington County by a Hartford Police Officer and his K9 partner during a multi-jurisdictional criminal interdiction detail in April. It culminated in the May 20th search warrants and arrests of a twin brother and sister from the Village of Germantown by investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Unit and the seizure of over 5 pounds of fentanyl and over a pound of cocaine by the Milwaukee Police Department Special Investigative Division.

Recovered Canoe/Dangerous Waters
06/03/2024
On Sunday, June 2, 2024, at approximately 7:00 pm the Washington County Sheriffs Office was notified of an overturned Coleman Ram X Canoe, red in color, located in the center of the Milwaukee River in the Town of Barton. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and determined the canoe was wedged into a downed tree and appeared unoccupied.

Community Notification

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to WI Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense.

Serious Injury Crash

On Sunday June 2, 2024 at 9:33 am the Washington County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash on Highway 33 at Alpine Drive in the Town of Addison. Witnesses reported the motorcycle operator had a serious head injury after striking another vehicle.

House Fire
05/25/2024
On Saturday May 25, 2024 at approximately 7:58 am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a house fire at 4350 Highway 28 in the Town of Kewaskum. The homeowner reported that the residence was on fire and three residents were trapped inside. The Kewaskum Fire Department was paged, and the Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Kewaskum Police Department.

Update to Injury Accident 24-16999

On Thursday 05-23-2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the 93-year-old female from the Town of Farmington who was critically injured in the Monday May 20th motor vehicle accident at Hy 45 and Cty Hwy H/Badger Rd had succumbed to her injuries in a medical facility.

On Thursday, May 23rd at approximately 11:07am, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received information of a white Ford car traveling south on Interstate 41 at speeds exceeding 100mph and passing other vehicles on the shoulder. This information was provided to Sheriff’s deputies; however, no deputy was on Interstate 41 in the immediate area to intervene.

On Monday, May 20th at 5:04pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 45 and CTH H/Badger Rd in the Town of Kewaskum. Callers informed our communications center that there were people walking around outside of the vehicles, but there was an elderly female passenger in one of the vehicles who was unconscious.
