Fall Operations

Fall operations consist mostly of finishing summer roadway and right-of-way maintenance work such as installing snow fence, preparing plows, and filling salt sheds. Depending on the weather, the Highway Department will also start preparing for the next construction season with additional culvert replacements, ditch cleaning, tree cutting, and any other required tasks.

Tree Cutting

Many trees that are deemed as potential hazards and subject to falling under heavy snow are removed during the fall.

Snow Fence

Snow fence is installed in areas with a history of drifting problems.
