Structure Fire

On Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 10:46 am a passerby reported to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that a garage was on fire in the 3000 block of Kettle Moraine Road in the Town of Hartford.  The caller reported that heavy smoke could be seen coming from the structure.  A short time later the Washington County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from the homeowner reporting the garage fire. 

Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and upon arrival of the first deputy the structure was found to be unoccupied with heavy smoke coming out of the roof line. The Hartford Fire Department arrived a short time later and upgraded the structure fire to the box level.  Hartford Fire Department was assisted by the following departments: St Lawrence, Slinger, Richfield, Ashippun, Iron Ridge, Hustisford, Neosho, Allenton, Mayville, West Bend, and Life Star Rescue. 

Kettle Moraine Road was closed for approximately four hours to assist in firefighting efforts.   There were no reported injuries to fire personnel as a result of the fire. As of this release the fire has been mostly extinguished, but Fire personnel are still on scene working on overhaul operations.  The building and contents were a total loss.  Initial lost estimate is $300,000.  The fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
