Committed to Treatment, Mental Wellness, and Recovery

Mental health and substance use issues are treatable!  These issues impact children and adults, and can interfere with health, family, work, or education. Most common forms of mental health struggles are known as depression, anxiety, or changes in mood and behaviors.  Our behavioral health professionals provide support, assessment, and treatment to assist individuals and families toward recovery.

Community Treatment Services

The Washington County Community Treatment Services team provides case management services to individuals who may benefit from assistance in the community. Participants in case management services are assisted in accessing resources in the community. Case managers work closely with clients to identify needs, develop goals, and work together toward achieving those goals. Recovering with a mental illness often brings many challenges, and our community based programs are ready to support our consumers and their loved ones through the process.

We offer both Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and Community Support Program (CSP) teams. Once you have met with a team member to discuss services, they will take steps to enroll you in the team that best meets your needs. The next step is developing a plan to outline your needs. Once identified, you and your case manager will start the recovery process.

Counseling and Substance Use Disorder Services

The Washington County Mental Health Center provides mental health services to residents in the community who have state insurance or no insurance. Your engagement will start by meeting with a licensed clinician for an assessment. The clinician will work with you to identify appropriate services such as therapy, psychiatry, medication needs, and case management to assist you in achieving your goals of living a fulfilling, empowering life. All of these services are provided at the Mental Health Center. If the clinician feels there are other programs outside of the Mental Health Center which would better serve you, he or she will assist you in accessing these resources. For more information about our programs or to learn about the walk-in hours for an assessment, please contact (262) 335-4600.

Are you looking for substance use disorder services for yourself or someone else? Our Substance Use Disorder Case Manager will provide the resources to boost recovery from addictions, and support the necessary lifestyle changes to maintain sobriety. Services are provided on individual need, utilizing the most appropriate and least restrictive care whenever possible. The ultimate goal of treatment isn’t simply to eliminate substance use; it is to help those who struggle with addiction to move forward in their life.

Priority admission and treatment is given to pregnant women struggling with a substance use disorder.

The Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Jail Re-Entry Program is designed to increase public safety by facilitating collaboration among the criminal justice, behavioral health, and substance use treatment systems. The goal is to promote access to mental health and other treatment services for individuals with mental illness, or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, who are being released from jail into the community. Referrals for the Jail Re-Entry program come primarily from jail staff or inmate self-referrals.

Washington County partners with a local community-based provider, Elevate, to help you navigate the OWI process. Elevate’s OWI program will assist you with obtaining and maintaining your driving privileges and providing awareness and education while addressing any substance use issues.

Crisis Intervention

Acute Care Services is here to assist you via telephone or in person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for individuals experiencing a mental health emergency. All staff are fully trained in crisis intervention, and can assist in averting a mental health emergency, de-escalating a situation, and will offer community based options that may help to prevent an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. We also offer suicide risk assessments, crisis counseling and crisis planning to assist with short and long term needs.

Youth Services

The Washington County Youth Services team offers a variety of services for children and families. We are here to offer case management, therapy, skill development, and many additional services for children with mental health concerns or disabilities. Our Youth Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program offers in-home mental health support. Youth and families can benefit from case management, therapy, mentoring, and other services as needed. Services are individualized and client-centered so your team will help you in connecting to services that allow you to meet your own goals.

Children’s Long Term Support (CLTS) offers support for children with disabilities of all kinds—physical, developmental, and mental health. CLTS is a needs based program and funding of last resort so your case manager will work with you to assess needs and fund services that cannot be funded through traditional insurance or other sources. This can include music therapy, adaptive swim lessons, adaptive aids, respite, and many other options.

Coordinated Services Team (CST) is a wrap-around approach to mental health treatment for youth and families. CST programming works directly with a youth and family to build a supportive team of both professional and natural supports and puts the youth in charge of their own services and treatment. CST builds advocacy skills for youth and families to help them recover from mental health challenges and lead successful lives. CST is often partnered with CCS and CLTS programming to provide the most extensive possible services for children and families.

Birth to Three offers services to children under the age of 3 with developmental delays or disabilities. Birth to Three staff work directly with families to provide a variety of services and support families in meeting a child’s exceptional needs. Early intervention services like Birth to Three help families navigate unique needs and situations and assist children with potential delays in overcoming these challenges.

All youth programs have an eligibility component to qualify for programming. If you are interested in CCS, CLTS, or CST services, please call the Youth Treatment Team Clinical Coordinator at 262-335-4822. If you are interested in Birth to Three services, please call Michael Hoffman at Threshold at 262-338-1188.
