Town of Wayne, Wi – On Thursday, September 19th at 11:02 PM, deputies responded to a report of a stolen Ford F150 from the 6900 block of Farm Lane in the Town of Wayne. Utilizing GPS tracking, the vehicle's owner directed Washington County deputies to the 2700 block of State Highway 28, where the suspect had attempted to steal another vehicle.

Update to 8/1/24 Homicide Investigation

The suspect in the August 1st early morning homicide in the 3500 block of Pleasant Hill appeared in Washington County Circuit Court this afternoon. Judge Sandra Giernoth found that there was probable cause, that the 41-year-old Village of Richfield man committed 1st Degree Reckless Homicide against his 42-year-old girlfriend. Judge Giernoth set bond at $750,000 and gave the State seven days to file formal charges against the suspect. He remains in custody at the Washington County Jail. Because no formal charges have been filed, we are not releasing the suspects’ names at this time.

It started as a traffic stop in Washington County by a Hartford Police Officer and his K9 partner during a multi-jurisdictional criminal interdiction detail in April. It culminated in the May 20th search warrants and arrests of a twin brother and sister from the Village of Germantown by investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Unit and the seizure of over 5 pounds of fentanyl and over a pound of cocaine by the Milwaukee Police Department Special Investigative Division.

The caller reported smoke was coming out of the building and there were people removing equipment from the shed. Town of West Bend Resolution 81

Town of West Bend, WI - On April 16, 2024, the Washington County Board of Supervisors approved 2023 Resolution 81 that authorizes the creation a deputy sheriff’s position assigned to the Town of West Bend. This will be the first of such agreements in Washington County that provides a full-time dedicated deputy sheriff to a town. The dedicated deputy is initially funded for a two-year period with a combined financial commitment between Cedar Community, the Town of West Bend and Washington County. The approved resolution reads that the county’s funding portion is considered a contribution to the town under the Shared Revenue Grant Program.

International Arrests Made in Connection to Local Case

In July of 2023, Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a 35-year-old Village of Newburg man on numerous felony charges relating to child sexual abuse material. Michael Westphal currently remains in custody on a $500,000 cash bail at the Washington County Jail while he faces those charges. The investigation, however, did not stop after the arrest.

The Town of Erin St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on Sunday, March 17th. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM. Starting at 10:00am, no vehicle traffic will be allowed on the parade route. Only pedestrian traffic going to the parade will be allowed to pass barricades on CTH K. Pending vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the parade route, the 10:00am time may be adjusted. Fugitive Apprehension from Mexico

Ingmar Adir Chew Moran, a 52-year-old former Kewaskum resident who had fled to Mexico in 2020 to avoid prosecution on serious sexual assault of a child charges is now in custody in the Washington County Jail. He appeared in front of Washington County Circuit Court Judge Hetzel earlier this morning on the outstanding warrant and was given a one-million-dollar cash bond. He faces 140 years of confinement on charges of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Assault of a Child Under 16 years of age. 17-Year Old Charged in Dangerous Pursuit

A 17-year-old Town of Farmington male was charged as an adult and released from custody on a $10,000 signature bond in Washington County Circuit Court on Monday with Second Degree Reckless Endangering Safety and Fleeing, both felonies. He was also cited for marijuana/paraphernalia possession. Dresden Fritsch was arrested early Saturday morning after Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop him. A patrol sergeant was driving on I41 in the Village of Germantown when he observed a car approaching him from behind at a high rate of speed around 1:30 am. As the car approached the squad the speed reduced drastically. The squad exited USH 45 near Pioneer Road and re-entered the highway immediately and observed that the vehicle had again drastically increased speed. Dresden’s car was paced at 90 mph.

Impersonating a Police Office

A thirty-five-year-old Germantown man was charged in Washington County Circuit Court on Tuesday with attempting to trick and extort victims into sending explicit photographs by posing as a Washington County sheriff deputy and a local attorney. Daniel Anderson now faces several charges including extortion, impersonating a police officer, and disorderly conduct. Anderson was arrested on December 22nd by Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigators after nearly a month and a half-long investigation.

Richfield Home Invasion Arrests

Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested four suspects in connection with the October 17th armed home invasion in the Village of Richfield on Friday, October 27th. The first two were taken into custody during a search warrant with the assistance of the Milwaukee Police Department Tactical Enforcement Unit early Friday morning. The other two suspects were arrested later the same day with help from the Milwaukee Police Special Investigations Division and the Wauwatosa Police Department. The names of the suspects are not being released at this time as they have not been formally charged. The two suspected of entering the residence armed with loaded firearms are 18- and 19-year-old men from the City of Milwaukee. Two women, both age 18, were arrested for party to a crime for their involvement in the invasions.

Home Invasion UPDATE

As Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue to diligently pursue leads in last night’s home invasion robbery in the Village of Richfield, we want to provide additional details on the incident to the community. The home invasion occurred in the Nob Hill Drive subdivision north of CTH Q in the Village of Richfield. Three younger black males were observed in the subdivision for at least an hour before the package was delivered a little after 5:00 p.m. It is believed that they were in the area waiting for the anticipated delivery of the package and were observed in what is described as a dark-colored newer SUV, possibly a Chevy Equinox. The male suspect who went up to the house and originally confronted the homeowners is described as a shorter/skinnier black male around 18 years of age wearing a yellow traffic vest. He was observed on foot in the subdivision leading up to this incident as well.

The caller reported receiving an unexpected package from UPS. After a resident brought the package inside, a black male wearing a gray sweatshirt and orange Hi-Vis vest knocked on the door. The suspect advised a package was delivered for him at this address. He attempted to force his way into the residence to take it. A physical confrontation occurred between the suspect and the residents. The suspect then fled the area.

Hidden Camera Investigation

A forty-five-year-old City of West Bend man was arrested on Friday for allegedly capturing unlawful images on a hidden camera mounted underneath a bathroom sink at Froedtert Hospital in the Town of Polk. The suspect, who was a Froedtert I.T. employee, admitted to investigators he has been placing the camera inside the same bathroom for the past several months and then saving some of the captured footage.

Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested a 35-year-old Village of Newburg man early Wednesday morning on numerous felony charges for allegedly possessing, sharing, and soliciting child sexual abuse material. Michael Westphal was taken into custody without incident after a traffic stop as he left his Newburg residence. A subsequent search warrant was served on the residence looking for evidence of these crimes.

On June 21, 2023, at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was notified of a motorcycle versus car crash in the area of Highway 167 and County Trunk K in the Town of Erin. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office along with the Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival of the first deputy, it was determined that a northbound motorcycle struck a southbound passenger car. The operator of the motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The operator of the passenger car displayed signs of impairment, and was arrested for Operating While Impaired.

Richfield Bomb Scare

Washington County Sheriff’s investigators have made an arrest in connection to a bomb threat that was called into Quest Engineering Inc. in the Village of Richfield on May 31st. Dmarion Hatten Nash, a nineteen-a-year-old City of Milwaukee man and former employee at Quest Engineering is alleged to have called in two separate bomb threats on May 31st to his former employer. The caller reported that there was a bomb in the building, and they had one hour to evacuate, or the bomb would be detonated. Nash was arrested on Monday afternoon with the assistance of the Menomonee Falls Police Department. He allegedly resisted officers’ attempt to take him into custody and now faces resisting arrest and criminal damage to property charges in Waukesha County as well.

Felony Lane Gang Arrests

Washington County Sheriff deputies arrested two men from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Saturday after they allegedly broke into numerous cars at a park in the Town of Addison. They remain in custody at the Washington County Jail. The men are believed to be involved in similar thefts at a church in Dodge County earlier in the day. Evidence also shows that the two men had been in the Denver, Colorado area only two days before, potentially committing similar thefts. The suspects had multiple credit cards and IDs belonging to victims from across the nation. The arrests came after an observant Washington County deputy saw that their car matched a vague description of a possible suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop because of illegal window tint.

On 05/21/2023 at approximately 7:23pm, the Washington County Communications Center began taking 911 calls reporting smoke and flame coming from Oak Creek Wood Products, which is located alongside Hwy/I-41 south of Slinger in the Town of Polk. The first responding Deputy observed dark smoke coming from the area while still en route. Slinger Fire was subsequently paged to the scene.

Willie B. Johnson was taken into custody this morning by members of the Milwaukee Police Department Fugitive Task Force at an address in the City of Milwaukee. Johnson is wanted by Washington County authorities on numerous felony warrants for his alleged brutal attack on a female companion that occurred over a several-day period in December 2022. This attack occurred in the Town of Barton. Johnson had been released by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections from prison on supervision status just weeks before the December attack. Investigators with the FBI, Milwaukee Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office have been working diligently in a collaborative effort since late December.

On 1/4/2023 at approximately 4:26pm the Washington County Communications Center received a phone call from a Town of Jackson resident indicating a subject had come to their front door requesting to use a phone. The subject made a short phone call using the homeowner’s cell phone and after the subject ended the call, he made threatening statements toward the homeowner. The homeowner indicated the subject left on foot and provided a physical description, clothing description and direction of travel for the subject. The homeowner also recognized the subject as a registered sex offender who resided at 1725 Cty Tk NN in the Town of Jackson.
