On June 9, 2025, at approximately 7:24 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash with injuries on County Highway K, east of Aurora Road, in the Town of Addison.
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, responded to the scene. Emergency personnel from St. Lawrence Fire Department, Allenton Rescue, and Hartford Fire Department were also dispatched to assist with the extrication of the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle.
Due to the severity of the driver’s head injury, Flight for Life was requested and transported the individual to Froedtert Medical Center in Wauwatosa.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that the vehicle’s sole occupant, a 69-year-old male resident of the City of Hartford, was initially unresponsive and entrapped. Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Highway K when it drifted onto the south shoulder, struck a mailbox, and then a culvert, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. It was determined that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained multiple traumatic injuries.
On July 3, 2025, the Washington County Medical Examiner's Office notified the Sheriff’s Office that the driver had succumbed to complications related to injuries sustained in the crash. This marks Washington County’s third traffic fatality of 2025.
