Case: Daytime Burglaries
Authority: Detective Lieutenant Tim Kemps
Over the past month, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has experienced several daytime residential burglaries. The main target of these criminals is cash and jewelry. These have occurred in the Village of Richfield, Town of West Bend, Village of Slinger, as well as several other surrounding counties. Washington County Sheriff’s detectives are working collaboratively with law enforcement partners throughout southeast Wisconsin to bring those responsible to justice.
We would like to ask our community members to partner with us in being vigilant in and around our homes and communities. We encourage community members who see suspicious activity to make note of it and report it immediately to local authorities. Often these criminals will knock on doors before forcing entry to determine if anyone is home. If someone knocks on your door and has an unusual explanation for their presence please report it to your local police agency. Legitimate vendors should have identification visible. Suspicious cars seen in your neighborhood or garage doors left open when they are typically closed are just some of the potential indicators of criminal activity.
We would like to thank the community for their continued effort and support in keeping our communities safe.
