On Monday July 4, 2022 at approximately 10:37pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a fire in the 5500 block of E. Waterford Rd in the Town of Erin. The homeowner/caller, who was on scene, reported there was an ATV on fire that was parked near the residence.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Hartford Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon the first deputies arrival, he found the ATV fully engulfed and the fire was spreading quickly to the residence. The fire was quickly upgraded to a MABAS call and the following departments assisted: Ashippun Fire Department, Slinger Fire Department, Richfield Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, Hustisford Fire Department, Merton Fire Department, Lebanon Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, St. Lawrence Fire Department, and Lifestar Ambulance Service.
Nearby homes did not require evacuation and traffic in the area was not affected. There were no injuries to the property owners or any personnel on scene as a result of the fire. At this time there is no damage estimate to the residence
The circumstances surrounding the fire do not appear to be criminal or suspicious in nature and the ATV was where the fire originated from.
