Case: 22-22496 Missing Elderly Man Found Safe
Authority: Detective Lieutenant Tim Kemps

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 7:53 this morning after the caller found that her elderly husband, who suffers from dementia and limited mobility, had walked away from their home. The property is located in the Kettle Moraine Forest off of Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Kewaskum.

Sheriff’s deputies immediately responded to the area and began searching and established a perimeter in the area. The Sheriff’s Office utilized equipment and personnel from several divisions to assist in the search. Drones were able to effectively search the open trails and fields in the area but were limited because of the heavy tree cover. A K9 team from the Cedarburg Police Department ultimately was able to track the missing man in the woods, finding him uninjured just after 10:00 am.

In this case, we were able to utilize several different agency resources to find him quickly and safely. We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone involved including our partners at the Cedarburg Police Department, and all the neighbors that came together to help with their assistance.
