Case: 22-35313 Single Vehicle Crash with Fatality
Authority: Sgt Brad Rodich #417
On 10/30/2022 at 12:55pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center took a report of a truck that had gone through a cornfield, hit an embankment and struck a tree in the area of Glacier Dr and Cty Hy D. The caller reported that airbags were deployed and that the single occupant appeared to have a head injury. West Bend Rescue, Kewaskum Rescue, Kohlsville First Responders and Sheriff’s Office Deputies were subsequently dispatched to the scene.
Upon the first deputy’s arrival, the driver was found to be unresponsive and not breathing. The deputy was able to remove the operator, a male in his early sixties from the greater West Bend area, from the vehicle and begin life saving measures. Rescue arrived and continued life saving measures until they were ultimately stopped at the scene after no success.
The initial investigation revealed that the truck was eastbound on Cty Hy D approaching Glacier when the truck veered right off the roadway and entered a cornfield, continued straight though the field into an adjacent soybean field before striking the road embankment for Glacier Rd south of Cty Hy D, going over Glacier Rd into the trees on the east side of the road where the vehicle came to rest.
The Washington County Accident Reconstruction Team was requested to the scene to further document and investigate. This crash. remains under investigation at this time.
