Fatal Vehicle Accident

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the 10th traffic fatality of 2023. Today at approximately 11:49am the Washington County Dispatch Center received a report of a single motorcycle crash on Hubertus Road in the area of E. Murray Lane in the Village of Richfield.

Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office along with the Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival of the Richfield Fire Department Flight for Life was requested to the scene and landed on E. Murray Lane.

An initial investigation showed that the operator a 23 year old male, Waukesha County resident was traveling west bound on Hubertus Road when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway. The motorcycle left the roadway and struck several trees causing fatal injuries.

Hubertus Road between Sonseeahray Drive and E. Murray Lane was closed for approximately three hours to assist in accident investigation. The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and no further information will be released at this time.
