Heart & Homestead Performance Measures and Transparency

Heart & Homestead puts a creative and positive spin on finding the resources necessary to purchase in Washington County by incentivizing new buyers for putting their hearts into their homes. The Incentive offers eligible homebuyers an earned down payment Incentive for community participation over the first five years following home close. When Recipients give hours of volunteer time or monetary donations to participating organizations, they are able to earn the Incentive received.

The Earned Down Payment Incentive is changing the lives of individuals and families by giving them the opportunity to own a home. Heart & Homestead provides an Earned Down Payment Incentive that is pre-paid at the time of closing to Recipients purchasing homes under $420,000. The Incentive amount is equal to 10% of the home purchase price, up to $20,000.

 

Location or line of work is not a qualifying factor for receiving an Incentive. This means that if you work outside of Washington County but desire to live within the County, you can participate.

 

Employees of Washington County Government are eligible to participate with the exception of employees that directly administer the Incentive. For further information on this, please see the County Policy.
