Case: Twins arrested on felony drug charges and over 6 pounds of fentanyl and cocaine seized

It started as a traffic stop in Washington County by a Hartford Police Officer and his K9 partner during a multi-jurisdictional criminal interdiction detail in April. The investigation culminated in the May 20th search warrants and arrests of a twin brother and sister from the Village of Germantown by investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.  This yielded a seizure of over 5 pounds of fentanyl and over a pound of cocaine by the Milwaukee Police Department Special Investigative Division.

Quintevon and Quintevia Mayhall Harris, twenty-three-year-old twin siblings from Germantown were taken into custody during the execution of a search warrant without incident on May 20th by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force. Also assisting were the Germantown and Harford Police Departments. They were both charged with multiple felonies in Washington County Circuit Court relating to the sale and manufacturing of narcotics stemming from the investigation conducted by the drug task force. They both remain in custody at the Washington County Jail. Another Milwaukee man was taken into custody on outstanding felony warrants out of Milwaukee County during the warrant. A second related search warrant was conducted later the same day by task force investigators and the Milwaukee Police Department Special Investigative Division. That warrant resulted in the seizure of over five and a half pounds of fentanyl, over a pound of cocaine, two firearms, drug paraphernalia, and a significant amount of cutting agents. The twins will face charges in Milwaukee County related to those drugs. The total street value of the narcotics is approximately $200,000.

“Unlike law enforcement, drug dealers are not confined to invisible jurisdictional boundaries. Public safety agencies must collaborate to ensure successful outcomes. This case demonstrates the mutual benefit we can have within our communities when we work together. I am grateful that our agency has developed these partnerships that allow us to increase our productivity and effectiveness in bringing these menaces to justice. These individuals need to be held accountable by the justice system in both Washington and Milwaukee Counties,” according to Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis.

Criminal interdiction details consist of law enforcement officers targeting a specific geographic area and conducting high volumes of traffic stops in that area to identify criminal behavior. All traffic stops are for lawful reasons such as speed or expired registration. However, the primary focus is identifying criminal behavior such as arrest warrants or illegal narcotics.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
