On November 7, 2022, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office joined with the Washington County Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force, Germantown Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol, to conduct a focused patrol with the intention of locating criminal activity. A total of 51 traffic stops were made.

The following is a summary of the major cases:

A Germantown Police Officer stopped a vehicle for suspended registration. A K9 indicated to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. The operator was on bond for child neglect and drug charges. Cocaine paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. She was arrested for bail jumping. Upon entering the jail, it was found she was in possession of narcotic drugs and cocaine. Additional charges are pending.

A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for window tint. A search of the vehicle produced two firearms that were illegally possessed. Both the driver and passenger were charged with firearms related charges.

A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for expired registration. An odor of marijuana was detected. A passenger was identified as a juvenile runaway and was turned over to their parents. A citation was issued for marijuana possession.

A Wisconsin State Trooper stopped a vehicle for improper display of registration. An odor of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle found that both the driver and occupant were illegally in possession of firearms. Both were taken to the Washington County Jail on firearms charges.

A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a north bound vehicle on I41 for lane deviation. Upon approach, a large bag of marijuana was observed. The bag was seized and the driver fled. A pursuit continued on I41. Passengers of the vehicle were continuously throwing items from the vehicle. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was able to deploy tire deflation devices to induce the car to stop. The Germantown Police Department then used the Pursuit Intervention Technique to stop the car. A search of the vehicle yielded white powder and 1.15 pounds of marijuana was recovered. One passenger had warrants for probation violation and child support. The second passenger also had warrants for probation violations and child support. The third passenger had a warrant for probation violation and fraud against a financial institution. The driver and all occupants were taken to the Washington County Jail.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for its partnerships with area police departments that allow these deployments to be successful.
